Free Pattern: The Freddie Blankie

Free Pattern: The Freddie Blankie

Thank you for being here, it is very exciting to present to you Birachelle's first ever Blankie pattern - The Freddie Blankie!

I won't be sugar coating much here, let me tell you, when casting on this idea, I am not at all sure why I made myself think it would be quick. It hasn't been. This blanket has tested my patience like no project before. And not because it's challenging, it's because I get bored too quick and prefer projects that I can make two or more of in a day.

Still, Blankies are quite sentimental to me and to many many others who are much much younger than I am - it's for them that I wrote this pattern. Because only somebody who really really loved someone would sit through the hours and patience it will take to make this Blankie. However, from what my followers have been encouraging me this whole time, and now that I have finally completed it myself, it will very very much be WORTH it!

Some Quick Notes

This Blankie is worked sideways of the design. Meaning when the project is finished, the stripes in the blankie are meant to run vertically. As you go through the patter, I have added headers that help to describe where you are shaping your blankie. Although truly, if you just finish the blanket and turn it sideways, you're good to go!

When alternating between the colors, I carried them up when I was only working with Colors A & B, but when working the stripes with Color C, I cut the yarn and weaved in the ends.

So, let's get into it!
